Дэвид Паттерсон (David R. Patterson)

Профессор Паттерсон работает клиническим психологом в медицинском центре Харборвью с 1983 года, уделяя особое внимание пациентам ожогового отделения. Благодаря его инициативе в центре работает программа психологического консультирования и поддержки пациентов.

Паттерсон имеет учёные степени по психологическому гипнозу и реабилитационной медицине. Уже более 20 лет он ведёт студентов в интернатуре и занимается программами последипломного образования врачей: за это время он выпустил более 1000 студентов.

Исследования профессора Паттерсона с 1989 года проводятся при финансовой поддержке Национального института здоровья США. Он является автором более 150 научных статей и публикаций на тему гипноза, противоболевой терапии и посттравматической реабилитации. Его статьи публикуются в таких журналах, как «Psychological Bulletin», «Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology», «Journal of Abnormal Psychology», «Pain и the New England Journal of Medicine».

Паттерсон давно увлекается игрой в футбол и любит проводить спортивные тренировки для своих сыновей. Также он играет на ударных в составе рок-группы Shrinking Head.

Клинические интересы: консультация пациентов с физическими травмами, преимущественно с ожогами, реабилитация пациентов, анальгетическая терапия, консультации по вопросам медицинской этики.

Научные интересы: лечение острой боли, ведение пациентов с ожогами и другими травмами, использование гипноза и технологии виртуальной реальности для купирования боли.
